Jessica Otto, Council Director
Jessica Otto, Council Director, joined Girls on the Run in the spring of 2008. Jessica grew up in Michigan and graduated from Western Michigan University (WMU) with a Bachelor of Science with a Social Work concentration and a Master of Public Affairs & Administration with a focus on Nonprofit Management and Leadership. While attending WMU she competed as a Division I student athlete in Cross Country, Indoor & Outdoor Track. During her career with Girls on the Run, the organization has doubled in size and expanded into Cabarrus County. Her organizational goal is to provide quality programming for the third through eighth grade girls of Cabarrus & Mecklenburg County.
Jessica lives in Denver, NC with her wonderful husband Thad and their precious dog, Lacey.
McKenna Collins, Program Coordinator
McKenna Collins, Program Coordinator, happily joined the Girls on the Run of Charlotte staff in the summer of 2012. McKenna grew up in a small town in Michigan and graduated from Western Michigan University with a B.S. in Community Health Education. After college she spent a wonderful year volunteering in California and Oregon with the AmeriCorps National Civilian Community Corps. After residing for a year in Vermont, McKenna recently made the move to Charlotte to begin working with Girls on the Run of Charlotte.
McKenna enjoys traveling, meeting new people, volunteering, reading and spending time in the great outdoors.
Alex Sypher, Volunteer Coordinator is a graduate of North Carolina State University with a B.A. in Public Relations and a Spanish language minor. She has traveled to several Spanish-speaking countries where she learned the importance of culture and the methods by which we communicate our experiences. Alex has a passion for engaging the community in programs that promote healthy lifestyles and positive relationships.
Alex enjoys the art of dance, football games, holidays and family time.
